A ruinous dwelling now of little architectural interest.

This one-storey cottage, probably dating from the early 19th century, is shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1834–35 and on all subsequent editions. It does not appear in the 1835 Valuation, indicating its status as a small vernacular building, but is recorded in the 1862 Valuation with a rateable value of £1, at which time Edward Devitt was listed as occupant and John Madden as immediate lessor.

At the time of the first survey in 1983, the building was described as a one-storey thatched and lime-washed cottage with two lime-washed cross-wall chimneys. The thatch stopped before the gables. Windows comprised various fixed and double-hung sashes with small panes, while doors were sheeted. The present front door was originally the back door and had no porch, but the rear door featured a windbreak porch and interior screen wall with a rectangular peephole opening to the main room. The main room retained an open roof with turf scraws held by ropes and roughly hewn rafters and original purlins, which were doubled by more recent timbers. Outside stood a turf house, thatched on timber uprights, with all stores thatched.

At the time of survey, the owner, then aged 83, reported no major changes to the house during her lifetime apart from the loss of the old dresser, and she continued to cook on the open fire. The thatch had until recently been maintained by a relative aged 70, who had become seriously ill. The building is now ruinous and has been delisted.
