Outbuildings, Ballyarnett, 50 Beragh Hill Road, Londonderry, BT48 8LY

These are stone farm buildings arranged around a rectangular courtyard, likely constructed between 1880 and 1899. They are situated on Beragh Hill Road in the townland of Ballyarnett, Londonderry. The buildings demonstrate good proportions, reflecting the size and wealth of the main house. Though internally modernised and having suffered some decline, the substantial external form remains largely intact, representing a common, but now increasingly rare, example of its type.

The farm buildings enclose the courtyard on four sides, with the west range abutting Beragh Hill Road, where a gap provides access to the yard. Built of stone, they feature red brick detailing. The west and east ranges are two storeys high, with irregularly spaced windows and doors. The west range is eleven bays long, while the east range extends six bays further. A cart shed nearly completes the north side, and the south side has a varied arrangement of pitched roofs with gables facing the farmyard and south. The outbuildings are currently used primarily for storage; a shooting range is located behind the east range.

No farm buildings were depicted on Ordnance Survey maps of 1830 or 1852 or mentioned in the Griffiths Valuation of 1858. They appear on the 1904 revision of the Ordnance Survey map. The buildings are of industrial archaeological interest and are notable for their rarity.
