Glenburn Bridge, Baronscourt, Newtownstewart, Co Tyrone, BT78 4EX

Glenburn Bridge was a small stone bridge situated over a stream on the Baronscourt estate, near Newtownstewart, Co. Tyrone. Constructed between 1820 and 1839, it spanned what was then recorded as ‘Stevenson’s River’, later known as ‘Glen Burn’. The 1833 Ordnance Survey map depicts the nearby lake with a different outline, and while the bridge is indicated on that map, its presence cannot be confirmed with certainty. The bridge appears on the 1854, 1907, and 1947 Ordnance Survey maps. It is of industrial archaeological interest. The bridge has since been demolished and no traces remain. No estate letters relating to the bridge were found. The date of its demolition is unknown.
