Terrydoo Bridge, Terrydoo Road, Limavady, Co Londonderry

A mid-18th century bridge, constructed between 1780 and 1799, provides a notable feature on Terrydoo Road. The bridge is built of rubble stone and is a good example of a sturdy structure from the Georgian period. It is located on the boundary of a ward and within the former lands of the Marquis of Waterford estate, near the townland of Drumramer.

The bridge consists of a single, almost semi-circular arch springing from vertical abutments. The span of the arch is 4.5 metres, constructed with voissoirs ranging from 150mm to 200mm in width. Parapets, standing 1 metre high with squared stone copings, flank the bridge, with a width of 6.5 metres between them and a total length of approximately 16 metres. The road approaches on either side of the bridge are straight.

The stonework has a rustic appearance and is demonstrably older than 1800, likely dating back at least 25 years earlier. The bridge possesses characteristics of industrial archaeological interest and currently serves its original function as a bridge.
