Drumramer School, Terrydoo Road, Limavady, Co Londonderry

The Drumramer School is a single-room building dating from circa 1820 to 1839. It is located on Terrydoo Road, Limavady, County Londonderry, within the townland of Drumramer. The building has a gable facing the road, with a centrally positioned entrance door. There are three windows in each of the long walls, each featuring high cills and six panes. It has a slated roof with large slates and a chimney at each gable. The walls are smooth, rendered, and painted.

A later extension, likely added after the building was taken over by the Western Education and Library Board (WELB), was constructed at the south gable to provide a school meals servery. Subsequently, the original classroom was divided into two smaller rooms, probably also during the WELB's period of ownership. A temporary classroom is attached to the north side of the main building.

The school's design does not resemble those of National Schools and was likely built under the patronage of the Marquis of Waterford. It is thought that the Drumramer School replaced a school in the nearby townland of Ballycrum, which was established in 1832. The Ballycrum School was described as being 22 feet by 14 feet and built of stone and lime, differing in dimensions to the Drumramer School. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the school served Catholic children. The property has now reverted to the estate following the WELB's departure.
