Description

This base was the southern extremity of a line set up to facilitate the triangulation pattern of the Ordnance Survey carried out in 1830s. The northern extremity was approximately 8 miles away at Magilligan Presently the base consists of enclosing circular whinstone wall with sandstone coping, average height 1200 mm, and surmounted by a metre high C I railing. The diameter of the base is approximately 6 metres. The enclosed space was covered with weeds and nothing could be observed.
