Description

A single semi-circular arch stone bridge, 1.5 metre span with stilted or vertical sides built in rubble sandstone on a slight curve. The parapet walls are 32 metres long with 7½ metre wide carriageway between. The parapets are only 2 courses high and thus relatively low. There are concrete buttresses on the upstream side. Since the bed of the stream is well below carriage level the abutments are high. The avenue at the northern end of the grounds of Pellipar House gently curves from the gate lodges to the bridge approach and then sweeps in curves towards the house itself.
