Loughgall National School, 24 Eagralougher Road, Loughgall, Armagh, Co Armagh, BT61 8PS

The building is a Victorian National School, constructed between 1860 and 1879. It is a single-story, five-bay gabled structure with a projecting gabled porch. The main entrance faces the south-east. The roofs are slated, with smooth rendered chimneys on each gable. The walls are of roughly coursed limestone rubble with raised smooth rendered block dressings around the openings on the front elevation; the gables are rendered with a dry dash finish. The rear wall features brick block dressings. A small plaque is set into the apex of the porch gable, inscribed "Loughgall National School 1862." The rainwater goods are modern PVC. The windows are modern rectangular timber fixed lights with top-hung vents. The main entrance is a rectangular timber doorway.

The building occupies a rural location alongside a public road, set back within its own tarmac yard. The front boundary is defined by original hooped and decorative iron railings, including a gate set between a pair of narrow cast iron fluted piers with decorative finials. The railings terminate at each end in square rendered piers and screen walls. The school was originally built as a ‘National School’ as indicated by the 1862 datestone.
