Description
Two storey terrace of c.1880 consisting of four houses, largely identical, but whose unity has been negated somewhat by recent changes to the front facades of each. Generally each house has a doorway with fanlight and plain pilasters and architrave. To the left of this is a window and to the first floor are two windows set is small gable half dormers with decorative barge boards. Each house has a two storey gabled rear except No.38, whose return is single storey All roofs are gabled with Bangor blue slates and rendered chimney stacks. There are steps to the front door of each house and a low rendered wall encloses a tiny garden to the front.The terrace is set on the SE side of the Killaughey Road, to the S of Donaghadee town centre. All houses have modern windows except for No.40 which has sash windows to front. Plain render to all houses except No.42 which has artificial stone cladding. HB24/07/030A No.36 As standard but with slightly larger front facade with sheeted timber doorway to entry at left. HB24/07/030B No.38 As standard but with large fanlight to entrance, semicircular arch headed windows to half dormers, surround to ground floor window at front and single storey extension to rear. HB24/07/030C No.40 Sash windows to front. Decorative keystone to doorway. HB24/07/030D As standard but with large facade with entry as No.36. Front facade and garden wall finished in highly unsuitable artificial stone cladding.
