Description
A group of two, long, matching Edwardian terraces with altogether 14 three storey houses, largely identical. The terraces are set on the W side of the Millisle Road to the S of Donaghadee town centre, near to the coast line. HB24/07/028A- No.105 is at the N end of the first section of the terrace. Its (E facing) front facade consists of a two storey canted, flat roofed, bay (to the right). To the first floor (left) is the entrance with panelled door and plain fanlight, all encased with plain pilasters and architrave. Directly above this is a window and to the uppermost level is a gabled half dormer with decorative barge boards. The first and ground floor windows are set on a cill course and the facade is finished in a limestone chip dry dash. The gable is blank (as are all gables to these terraces). To the rear is a large two storey, gabled return half of which belongs to No.107. This and the main rear facade have and assortment of window openings of different shapes and sizes. All windows throughout the house have modern frames. The roof is gabled and has Bangor blue slates. Mixture of PVC and cast iron rw goods, with cast iron ogee gutters to front. HB24/07/028E- No.113 As 105, but has original paired windows to gabled half dormer and a Tyrolean finish. HB24/07/028F- No.115 As 105 but handed and has painted rough cast render. HB24/07/028G No.117 Is at the N end of the S terrace. Its facade is as before but with segmental arch heads to all windows to ground and first floors and to fanlight above entrance. Plain render HB24/07/028H- No.119 As 117 but handed and with original paired windows to half dormer. HB24/07/028I- No.121 As 117 but with original paired windows to half dormer. HB24/07/028J- No.123 As 117 but handed and with original paired windows to half dormer. HB24/07/028K- No.125 As 117 but with original paired windows to half dormer. HB24/07/028L- No.127 As 117 but handed and with dry dash. HB24/07/028M- No.129 As 117 but with original paired windows to half dormer. HB24/07/028N- No.131 As 117 but handed. There is a single storey extension to the S gable. The facade is unpainted. The rears of each property are virtually identical but with minor variations as a result of individual renovation schemes, e.g. addition ground floor windows to end of return, glazed roofs to yards, half dormers to some second floor windows etc.
