Description

A detached three-bay two-storey farmhouse with attached outbuildings, built c. 1830 and located to the south side of Tannaghmore Road. The house is rectangular on plan, facing north. The roof is pitched artificial slate with brick chimneys to gable and party wall. Walling is roughcast with cement rendered corner banding and plinth. Windows are 1/1 sliding sashes with smooth rendered architraves, cills are painted masonry; windows to first floor are diminished in height. The principal (north) elevation is symmetrical with three openings to each floor arranged about central entrance containing replacement glazed timber door. The east gable is blank. The rear elevation central and right bays project slightly. Ground floor has a 1/1 sliding sash window to either side, and a diminished in size 2/2 (horizontally divided) with segmental-headed top panel to left of centre. First floor has a 1/1 sash to centre. Remaining windows are replacement timber side-opening casements. The west gable is abutted by the outbuilding, which is slightly lower and contains secondary entrance to the house at right. It is detailed as the house with t&g sheeted openings located under eaves and stable doors to ground floor. There is an attached stone trough located between openings. Setting The house occupies a farmyard setting with single-storey outbuildings to side and modern barns and modern farmhouse to rear. It is bounded to the road by a roughcast boundary wall and accessed by a pair of mild steel gates on cement rendered gate piers with roughcast panels and diamond caps.
