Description
Combe Cross Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was restored in the late 20th century. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble, with some areas rendered, and features a thatched roof and brick stacks. The building has a two-cell plan with a cross passage and stands two storeys high with three bays. All the windows are 20th-century two-light wooden casements, with the first floor set under eyebrow dormers. On the ground floor, there are two windows on either side of a central plank door, which is sheltered by a rendered gabled porch topped with a double Roman tiled roof. A raking buttress is present on the right side of the cottage. The interior has only been partially viewed, but it includes ground floor chamfered beams with step and run-out stops.
