Description
Gate piers and gate located 10 metres west of Stowey Lodge were designed by John Norton in 1850. They are made of cast iron. The gate piers are octagonal with shallow moulded pyramid caps, a neck band, and a cavetto moulded plinth. The gate features standards of five bays with simple finials, horizontal bars reinforced with a curved crosspiece, and a central band of simple decoration. The design is identical to that of the gate piers and gate at Williton Lodge and Church Lodge. These structures are primarily listed for their group value with Stowey Lodge.
