Description
This is a late 18th-century cottage situated on the site of an earlier building in West Coker. It is constructed from local stone rubble with dressings in Ham stone ashlar. The roof is covered with double Roman clay tiles; the east gable is coped and features a truncated stone chimney stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. The ground-floor window on the west side has leaded lights and an iron opening casement, with an exposed timber lintel under a wood lintel in the first bay. A plain stone surround frames a window on the west gable, which may be part of a later extension. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage’s location suggests possible connections to the nearby Manor House.
