Description
Bridge Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring rusticated stone quoins and moulded stone window cills. The roof is made of clay pantiles, with parapeted gable ends and a moulded eaves cornice. The building has large brick gable end stacks.
The farmhouse has a double depth plan, consisting of two main front rooms, a central entrance and stair hall, along with service rooms in a two-storey integral outshut at the rear, which extends at the rear right side.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical five-bay south front. It has tall narrow windows with cambered brick arches, moulded stone cills, and restored cross-mullion-transom frames. The central doorway features a flush-panel door and a 20th-century rendered porch. The main roof extends over the two-storey outshut at the rear, which is also extended on the left side.
Inside, there is a central entrance hall with a staircase that has moulded balusters, square newels, and a moulded handrail. The doors are fielded panel style. The left-hand front room includes a fielded-panel chimney-breast and a moulded and dentilled ceiling cornice.
