Description
This footbridge, located about half a mile north of Crowcombe Court, was built in 1776. It is constructed from squared and coursed red sandstone with bands of unknapped flint. The bridge features a single span pointed arch, which is flanked by semi-circular headed niches. The parapet is gabled in the center and ramps back from the abutments. Below the parapet, there are bands of undressed flint, with similar pilaster strips flanking the arch, surrounds to the arch, and architrave to the niches. The bridge has a shallow saddleback coping. The east end has been restored, and at the time of the survey in August 1983, the structure was largely overgrown with ivy.
