Description
This barn, located about 60 metres east-south-east of Manor Farmhouse, is probably from the 18th century and has undergone some modifications. It is constructed from ham stone rubble, with the east gable facing the street made of red brick in Flemish bond. The roof is covered with undulating plain clay tiles and features tall stepped coped gables topped with obelisk finials, indicating that it may have originally been thatched. The barn has nine bays and double-collar trusses with three rows of purlins on each side. There is an inserted floor in part of the building, a modified throughway towards the east end, and a lean-to against the south wall. Some segmental-arched openings are present. The barn holds significant group value with Manor Farmhouse.
