Description
The gate piers and east boundary wall at Upper Thorn Farmhouse date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick, featuring a curved section in Flemish bond, while the rest is in English garden wall bond. The boundary wall includes Doulting stone piers and clay tile copings. It has shaped tile copings and stands approximately 1.2 meters high, rising to 2 meters before curving back to the rusticated ashlar stone piers. These piers have heavily moulded tops with steps and low pyramid finials, and there are no gates. The wall is contemporary with and complements Upper Thorn Farmhouse.
