Description

Rodway Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, with alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed of rendered and colourwashed sandstone rubble, with significant areas of render missing. The roof is covered with Roman tiles, has coped verges, and is topped by end brick stacks. A projecting band runs along the first floor. The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, and originally comprised three bays. Most windows are 3-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, although the outer windows on the ground floor are paired sashes with a wooden dividing mullion. Two ground floor windows have 20th-century concrete lintels. The front door, located between the second and third bays, is a 6-panelled door. Inside, the room to the left of the ground floor has a chamfered cross-beam ceiling. A left ground floor window has internal shutters. The roof structure is described as being of massive pegged construction.
