Description

Windsor Farmhouse and attached outbuildings is a detached farmhouse dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, with later additions. It is constructed of local lias stone, squared and cut, with a thatched roof featuring plain gables. Brick chimney stacks are positioned at the ends and between the bays. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four bays. It has casement windows with horizontal glazing bars, mostly 3-light. There are no windows in the upper bays 1 and 3, and the lower bay 2 has a boarded door with a glazed panel. All openings have simple timber lintols.

Attached to the west gable is a long barn with a double Roman clay tile roof. It has double doors, one halved, near the farmhouse, and a small casement window near the west end. Further outbuildings extend from the east gable, one projecting forward and featuring a clay pantiled roof, a part-brick gable, and small casement windows.

The interior, though not directly inspected, is reported to have a 3-room cross passage plan, with partitions made of stud and panel, and wattle and daub. Ceiling beams remain, including a moulded 6-panel ceiling in the centre room. There is a suspected fireplace with an oven in the east gable, and a framed jointed cruck roof with some windbraces still in position.
