Description

Town Mills is a disused corn mill, along with an attached millhouse that is now a farmhouse. The farmhouse dates back to the 17th century, while the mill is likely from the 18th century. The farmhouse has a rendered facade, and the mill features a painted random rubble exterior, with red sandstone random rubble on another elevation. The farmhouse has a slate roof, while the mill has a corrugated iron roof. The structure is arranged in an "L" plan, with the mill to the north and the farmhouse to the east.

The farmhouse, which faces east, is two stories high and has four bays. It features sash windows, with casements on the first floor to the right and a 20th-century sash window below. The entrance is through a partially glazed six-panel door to the left. The mill is also two stories, with four 20th-century windows on the first floor and a door on the left end. The ground floor has six-light casements flanked by a door to the right and a round-headed opening for the mill wheel on the left. The undershot cast iron mill wheel remains in place, along with some of the machinery.

To the east, there is a single-storey lean-to cartshed. A low red sandstone random rubble wall with saddle stone coping encloses the triangular garden site. A mill has existed on this site since before the Domesday Book survey, and it is believed to be the origin of the town's name, Milverton.
