Description
The Lodge is a house built in the early 19th century. It is rendered over random rubble and features quoins, a steeply pitched slate roof with coped verges, and a lean-to roof behind a parapet on the right, which is set at an angle with the hipped west wing. The building has brick stacks at the gable ends and to the left of the centre. It has a "U"-plan layout with the main block facing south and wings at the rear. The house is two stories high with five bays on the front and one bay on the left. The windows are a mix of 2-light casements and sashes with single glazing bars. The ground floor windows are fitted with louvred shutters, and there are French windows in the outer left bay under hood moulds. The first floor has a recessed sash window on the outer right bay with glazing bars under a hood mould. There is a plain tiled pentice porch on brackets on the left return elevation, featuring a glazed door set into the south front of the west wing. An early 19th-century lithograph depicts the facade with pointed sash windows and Y tracery.
