Description
Owlet Ash is a house dating from the 17th century, which was restored around 1980. It features a coursed and squared rubble plinth, timber framing, and plastered and colourwashed cob nogging. The gable wall is made of squared lias with coping, and it has a thatched roof along with a restored ashlar stack that has a moulded cap. The building is single storey with an attic and has three windows on the ground floor, which are restored 2-light wooden mullioned casements. There is a thatched dormer with a 2-light casement and an oval stair-light in a moulded dressed stone surround to the left. To the right, there is a single storey pent-roofed lean-to. Owlet Ash is an unusual example of a timber-framed building in a village that is otherwise built of stone.
