Description

Stanchester House is a house built in the early 19th century, with a late 19th-century addition on the right that matches the original style. The front is roughcast, and it has a hipped slate roof with wide bracketed eaves and roughcast and brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and features three bays on the left and one bay on the right. It includes large sash windows with glazing bars and ornamental fretwork blind-boxes. The entrance has a door opening with a six-panelled door, where the top two panels are glazed, and a fanlight with radiating glazing bars, all beneath a Ham stone portico. The interior contains features of interest.
