Description

Tadhill Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse located in Downhead. It is constructed with a rendered facade scribed as blockwork, beneath a slate roof with coped verges and rendered end stacks. The symmetrical facade is a lobby-entrance house plan. The building is two storeys and an attic, with three bays. It features three-light, reserved chamfer mullioned windows on the ground floor, and similar two-light openings above, all with plain labels. A central door opening is set within a bead-moulded stone surround, surmounted by a flat chamfered stone hood on shaped stone brackets, with a 20th-century door. An outshut is attached to the rear, featuring a catslide roof and plain stone mullioned windows.
