Description
Marsh Court is a farmhouse built in 1661, constructed from local stone rubble with ashlar dressings. It features a plain clay tile roof over stone slate base courses, with a coped west gable and stone and brick chimney stacks. The building has a U-shaped plan and is two storeys high with five bays. It includes reserve chamfered mullioned two-light windows, some of which have external iron bars and leaded lights. The outer pairs of windows share labels at both levels. There are additional blocked windows at the lower level between bays two and three, and to the right of bay five, there is a small stairlight that serves both levels, although the upper part is blocked. A projecting stone and tiled porch is located between bays three and four. There is a single-storey dairy building at the southeast corner, which extends to the northeast and northwest corners, with the rear elevation generally matching the front in character. The interior has been largely stripped at ground floor level and features a later staircase, but the stepped run-out chamfered beams have been preserved.
