Description

The Stapleton Arms is an inn, likely built in more than one phase, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features rendered and rubble walls topped with a slated, gable-ended roof, and has rendered stacks at the ends of its ranges. The original section of the building includes pilaster strips. It is two storeys high, with a main range consisting of three bays and two subsidiary two-bay ranges on either side. The windows are sashes with glazing bars. The main range also has two canted bays flanking a central porch, which is supported by Doric columns. The porch features a semi-circular headed doorway with a fanlight and a glazed door.
