Description

A First World War memorial dating from 1920, altered following the Second World War.

MATERIALS The memorial is constructed from granite.

DESCRIPTION The memorial is approximately 3.6 metres high and takes the form of a wheel cross set on a tapering shaft. This stands atop a rough-hewn base, which has granite blocks placed around it.

The shaft is inscribed: TO/ THE GLORIOUS MEMORY/ OF/ (NAMES)/ WHO/ FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918/ 1939-1945/ (NAMES).
