Description
The barn attached to Chilcote Manor Farmhouse is a building that dates back to the 15th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with flush-dressed quoins, coped verges, and a pantile roof, and has a rectangular plan. Notable original features include a chamfered 4-centred arch door opening on the west side and a wide moulded 4-centred arch door opening with a panel traceried soffit on the east side. There are three single light trefoil-headed window openings, one of which has a hood mould, as well as a two-light stone mullioned window with trefoil-headed lights. Additionally, there is a blocked similar window with a transom, some iron transoms and saddle bars, and some leaded lights. The principal openings feature paired traceried doors and a ribbed and studded door, which are 19th-century additions. Inside, there is a wide open fireplace with a chamfered 4-centred arch. The 19th and 20th-century lean-tos are not considered of special interest.
