Description
The former Church of St John Evangelist, now a house, was built in 1838 by Richard Carver. It features coursed and squared rubble construction, corbel tables, slate roofs, coped verges, a cruciform finial, and a gabled ashlar bellcote. The church is designed in the Early English style and includes a nave, west porch, chancel, and south vestry. The five-bay nave has lancet windows with diamond paned leaded lights, a gabled porch, and a door opening with a pointed arch and a 4-centred arch. There is also a lean-to shelter to the south with later ribbed doors. The short chancel has triple lancets at the east end and continuous hood moulds. The interior has undergone some alterations.
