Description
The Former Buddle House, located at NGR ST 5710 4810, is a disused buddle house dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and has a circular plan, although it originally featured a gentle beehive shape. The roof is now partially collapsed. The doorway stands 1.60 meters high and is supported by two massive stone lintels, while there are no window openings. This structure was used for the buddling of lead, and excavations have revealed remains of lead ore on the floor.
