Description
The gateway, located about 80 metres west of Wyatt's Court, is likely from the early 19th century and may have been designed by James or Jeffry Wyatt, who later became Sir Jeffry Wyattville. It features ham stone piers and wrought-iron gates. The four piers are square in shape, with plain bases, top bands, steps, and necked bases topped with pineapple finials. The central piers are approximately 3 metres high and flank the carriage gateway, while the side piers are about 2.5 metres high and include pedestrian gates. The gates themselves are likely from the early 20th century, characterized by plain rails with arched bracing. This gateway holds significant group value with Hinton House.
