Description
This is a derelict house located adjacent to the roadside at Lower Rydon Farm. It dates from the 16th century and was partly rebuilt in the late 19th century. The structure is made of cob on a rubble plinth, with a roof covered in double Roman tiles and corrugated-iron sheeting, and features a rubble stack. The house has a cross-passage plan and consists of a single storey with an attic as well as two storeys, displaying irregular fenestration with 19th-century casements. As of March 1985, the west gable wall has collapsed. There is a door leading to the cross-passage from the roadside, which has a peak-headed door frame and a plank door. Inside, there are remains of a crucked roof.
