Description

East Cottage is a house, largely of 19th-century appearance, though with a probable earlier core, possibly medieval. The house has a brick and coursed rubble core, with a roughcast or colourwashed render finish to the walls, and a double-Roman tile roof. Brick stacks are also present. The building is arranged in an L-shape, with a single storey and attic. The left wing, facing the road, is blank. The right wing comprises a single bay with a three-light casement window incorporating horizontal glazing bars. A half-dormer with a corrugated iron roof provides access to the attic. A panelled and glazed door is located in the angle between the two wings. An outshut on the left of the frontage is not considered to be of architectural interest.
