Description

Myrtle Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 17th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of cob, which is smooth rendered and colourwashed, and features a thatched roof with a brick stack. The building is single storey with an attic and has a road frontage of two bays. On the ground floor, there are two small casements, one of which has glazing bars, and on the first floor, there are two 2-light casements with glazing bars, both situated under bonnet-hoods. To the west, there is a single-storeyed outshut with a casement in its west face and a swept down thatched roof. At the rear, there is a door opening with a plank door. The interior shows evidence of a cruck roof.
