Description
Strapp Cottage is a detached cottage that may date back to the 17th century but was remodeled in the 19th century. It is constructed of ham stone ashlar and features a clay pantiled roof with stepped coped gables and stone end chimney stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays. It has a plinth and hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set in wave mould recesses, with three lights in the upper outer bays and four lights in the lower outer bays. The centre bay contains 20th-century single light copies on both levels. A continuous string course steps up as labels above each of the lower windows, and there are no visible doorways on the front elevation. The entrance is through a 20th-century lean-to porch on the north gable, which has traces of blocked windows above. The interior has not been seen.
