Description

Peter’s Barton is a detached house with origins in the 17th century. It is constructed of ham stone, some cut and squared, some coursed rubble, with ashlar dressings, and has a double Roman clay tiled roof with plain gables and yellow brick chimney stacks. The house is two storeys and has an irregular fenestration pattern over four bays. Upper windows are 20th-century casements in reconstructed stone surrounds with ovolo mouldings. Lower windows feature hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set in chamfered recesses and have labels. A chamfered, cambered-arched doorway with a deep lintel and a separate label sits beneath a 20th-century boarded door in the lower bay to the right of centre. A single-storey extension is set against the north gable. The interior has not been inspected.
