Description

No. 10 Church Street is a mid-19th century shop, now used as a shop and offices. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a Ham Hill stone plinth, and has stepped stone coping to its slate roof, featuring brick stacks to the gable ends. The building follows a double-depth plan. The two-storey façade has a three-window arrangement. The first floor has 6/6-pane windows set within flat stone arches. The ground floor features a late 19th century double shopfront with steps leading to the entrance door, which is flanked by three-pane plate-glass windows, and has C20 vents to the basement below. The shopfront’s plain fascia is decorated with restrained consoles on either side. Steps lead to a 20th century door under a flat stone arch on the far left. The interior remains uninspected.
