Description

The Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was altered in the mid-19th century. It features roughcast over rubble and has a steeply pitched Bridgwater patent tiled roof. There are brick stacks located at the left gable end, above the entrance, and another rising midway from the roof between the third and fourth bays. The building has a three-cell lobby entry with a stair bay projection at the rear of the lobby. It is two storeys high and has five bays. The mid-19th century windows include 2-, 3-, and 4-light casements with many panes. Notably, there are remains of an ovolo moulded mullion window in the second bay to the right over the entrance. The porch has a roughcast random rubble arch head and side lights, and the roof is hipped with Bridgwater patent tiles.
