Description
Jenkins is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with later enlargement in the 19th century. It features roughcast over rubble and has a thatched roof that is half hipped on both the left and right sides. There are brick stacks at the gable ends, along with a large external stepped stack on the facade and a brick chimney to the right, which marks the end of the original dwelling. The building has a three-cell layout with a cross passage and a single bay addition to the right. It is one and a half storeys tall, with two dormers on the first floor and two- and three-light casement windows. There is a 20th-century window below the eaves to the right, and on the ground floor, there are three three-light casement windows, along with another 20th-century casement window in the outer bay to the right, where the wooden lintel and part of a jamb from an earlier opening still survive. The entrance is located between the first bay on the left and the external stack, featuring a 20th-century plank door within a square-headed chamfered surround, topped by a thatched, gabled wooden trellis porch. The interior has not been viewed.
