Description
HEMINGTON CP ST75SW HEMINGTON VILLAGE 6/104 The Old Rectory (previously listed as The Rectory) 11.3.68 GV II
Rectory, now house. Probably mid C18, late C18/early C19 alteration and addition. Entrance front of dressed stone, moulded cornice, parapet with coping, coped verges, end ashlar stacks, slate roof, 2 box dormers. Symmetrical; 2 storeys and attic, 5 bays, sash windows with glazing bars in moulded stone architraves with emphasised keys, centre window with a semi-circular head. Central architrave door opening, emphasised key, slab hood on brackets, 6-panelled door, top 2 panels glazed, lamp on brackets set over. Single bay addition to left probably late C18/early C19 in conforming style, hipped slate roof. Lower 2 bay addition of coursed rubble to right, sash windows with glazing bars in plain stone surrounds.
