Description
The east boundary wall, located about 12 metres east of All Saints Church, is likely from the 19th century. It is constructed of Cary stone, which is roughly squared and laid in random courses, with Doulting dressings. The wall measures approximately 65 metres in length and features a chamfered plinth and deep angled coping with a roll-top. It has 16 offset buttresses that rise nearly to full height, averaging 3 metres. At the north end, there are a pair of square gate piers topped with ornamental flat pyramid caps, and similar piers are found at the south end. Both gateways have wrought-iron gates from the late 20th century, with the south gateway also featuring iron lanterns mounted on the gate piers. This wall significantly enhances the setting of the church and the overall street scene.
