Description

Studfold Cottage is a house dating to approximately 1650. It is constructed of uncoursed rubble, which has been rendered, with a slate roof and brick chimneys. The building has an oblong shape and comprises four bays. A central doorway is framed by a stone surround with a depressed four-centred head. Flanking the doorway are two pairs of windows with ovolo-moulded mullions, each featuring two lights. Each pair of windows is topped with a single drip mould with squared ends. A similar arrangement of windows exists on the first floor, again with drip moulds. Parapetted gables are present, with a chimney rising through the apex of each gable. A contemporary cellar of interest lies beneath the house.
