Description
Bowlish Villa is a house dating from around 1700, with later alterations. It is built of rubble, rendered and covered with a slate roof, and features ashlar table chimneys. The house is symmetrical and oblong in plan. It has three storeys and two bays. A central doorway is defined by a flat architrave and a plain doorcase dating from the 18th century. The door itself is contemporary with its surround. Bay windows were added around 1850, flanking the doorway on either side and each topped with a small hipped roof. The upper floors have stone mullion windows of two lights, fitted with 19th-century sash windows. A dripmould runs across the front as a string course at first floor level. The chimneys have moulded caps. Flanking walls extend along the front, with the wall on the left incorporating a pointed arch garden door.
