Description

Bowlish Grange is a circa 1700 mill, later converted into a house, significantly restored in subsequent periods. The building is constructed of Doulting rubble, with the upper half rendered, and has a slate roof with coped verges and brick end stacks. It is divided into two sections. The left-hand section is three storeys high and three bays wide, featuring sashes with glazing bars in plain stone surrounds. A central door opening is topped by a semi-circular stone hood supported on scrolled brackets, leading to a two-panel studded door. The right-hand section is also three storeys high but only two bays wide, with an irregular window arrangement, primarily comprising three-light mullion windows. This building exhibits group value from its contribution to the historic character of the area.
