Description

The churchyard cross, located about 2 meters south of the Church of St Matthew, dates back to the 13th century and was restored in the late 19th century. It is made of dressed stone and features a Calvary design with three steps that have been renewed. The cross has an octagonal socket with broaches, and the east side displays emblems of the Passion. The shaft and head of the cross were also renewed in the 19th century, as noted in Pooley's "Old Crosses of Somerset" from 1877.
