Description

This is a road bridge over the River Brue, dating from the 15th century or earlier. It is constructed from local stone that has been cut and squared. The bridge features two pointed arches with double rows of voussoirs and has central angled cutwaters on both sides. Instead of traditional parapets, it has oak posts and rails. The bridge is located on the ancient road that connects Weymouth and Bristol and is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No 145).
