Description
The Coach House and Stable at Tellisford House, likely built to accommodate a pony and trap, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed from squared and coursed rubble Doulting stone, featuring ashlar quoins, arches, and lintels. The roof is slate-covered with coped gables and a hipped section over the projecting carriage entrance, which also has a hay loft access door. The building has a single-storey 'L'-shaped plan and includes framed and vertically boarded doors on iron hinges set beneath a segmental arch. Inside, the stable is equipped with stalls and mangers. The yard is paved with stone setts and has a gated entrance through a random rubble stone boundary wall that stands 3 metres high, complete with quadrants and free-stone coping. This wall extends approximately 80 metres to the west. The structure is primarily noted for its group value with Tellisford House.
