Description
The Church of All Saints, originally listed as Rodden Church, is a Grade II* church dated 1640 and rebuilt in the mid-19th century. It features a three-bay nave and a one-bay chancel, along with a small diagonally-buttressed embattled west tower and a gabled south porch. The building is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with a tiled roof, decorative ridge tiles, and coped verges topped with cruciform finials.
The windows are two-light hollow-moulded stone-mullioned designs, each with a 4-centred head and stopped labels, while the east window consists of four lights set in a pointed head surround with reticulated tracery. The tower has a moulded cornice below the parapet, with a single segmental-headed bell opening on each face, each featuring a dripmould and bell louvres. Above the door opening to the porch is a stone plaque with raised lettering that reads "1640".
Inside, the church contains Jacobean pews, an 18th-century pulpit, and six wall monuments from the 19th century, some created by Chapman of Frome. There are also two 18th-century coffin stools, some late 19th-century stained glass, and a font supported by a large central shaft with three smaller flanking shafts, likely from the early 19th century.
