Description
Coleford House is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid to late 19th century that match the original style. The building is constructed of random rubble and features moulded stone cornices and ashlar stacks. It stands two storeys high and is divided into three distinct sections with a total of seven bays, with the outer sections being lower in height. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set within dressed stone architraves.
On the first floor of the right section, there is an open loggia with a decorative wooden surround. The house has two door openings: the main entrance is located in the centre of the central block, framed by a dressed stone surround with a semi-circular head, a fanlight with glazing bars, and a six-panelled door where the top four panes are glazed. This entrance is topped by a portico featuring an open triangular pediment supported by two Roman-Doric columns, with a section of entablature above. To the left, there is a secondary door opening in a moulded architrave, leading to a three-quarter glazed door.
